PepZin GI (pepZinGI) - PepZinGI is a 1:1 molecular combination of L-Carnosine (?Alanyl-L-Histidine) and Zinc. PepZinGI enhances stomach lining integrity by stimulating the production of mesenchymal IGF-1 and by suppressing gastric epithelial NF-kB and IL-8 expression. Also, PepZinGI exerts antioxidant effects which directly reduces cellular damage caused by reactive oxygen species. The actions of PepZinGI are based on the molecular combination of L-Carnosine and Zinc, which has an affinity to adhere to and coat gastric mucosa. Because of their fast diffusion rates, non-molecular combinations (admixtures) of L-Carnosine and Zinc are far less effective.
