The spray often provides instantaneous relief from the inflammatory pain. The lignan compounds of Larrea have been shown to be potent inhibitors of a key enzyme involved in the inflammatory pathway therefore providing relief to inflammation. The spray is in an alcohol base so should not be sprayed on open wounds or near eyes or genitals.
