Each packet of VSL#3 contains at least 450 billion live probiotic "good" bacteria. The actual bacteria count at packaging is slightly higher to account for a percentage of bacteria loss that may occur during shipping and storage. The live bacteria in VSL#3 will survive in a variety of environment condition, including exposure to gastric fluids and normal body temperature (98??F). For the purposes of long term storage our stability data suggest that the highest possible potency of VSl#3 is maintained when the product is refrigerated (39-46??F)
Extended
exposure to high heat will cause the live lactic acid bacteria to slowly become inactive. However, the product may be exposes to normal ambient temper"res for up to a week without adversely affecting potency. For long term storage, please refrigerate.

Suggested Dosage:
Take 1 to 2 capsules (swallow or mix into a non-carbonated drink) or as
suggested by your physician. Bloating can occur during the first few
days following the start of VSL#3 consumption. This is usually a
transitory phenomenon due to the changing intestinal microflora. If you
experience bloating, you may need to reduce your daily intake to allow
this adjustment. Store in the refrigerator.
